How to Converting Battery Operated Table Lamps


Battery operated table lamps – Have a favorite table lamp, but do not have an outlet to start? This need not be a problem. The use of some common household tools, the output cable of a table lamp can be removed and replaced with a rechargeable battery. When connecting a battery to the table lamp, you will be able to light up any room you choose without experiencing any loss in quality of lighting table lamps.

Lets follow this instructions to convert battery operated table lamps. The first, turn the table lamp upside down and locate the wire. If you can not trace the wire to the point where it meets with electric table lamp unit gently pull its decorative table lamp housing to expose the electrical unit. Carefully disconnect the power cord of the table lamp unit. Usually this can be done by hand, although sometimes requires a small screwdriver. Purchase a rechargeable 6-volt lantern (see Resources) with a cable of AC / DC enclosed. Use a screwdriver to gently pry open the electric table lamp unit. Locate the point where the original cable connected to the wiring inside the unit. There should be two small copper wires.

Use a wire cutter to strip about half an inch of rubber off the tip of the two battery cables. Connect the table lamp marked with a plus sign to the battery cable marked with a plus sign turning the two wires together. Connect the cables labeled with a minus sign to each other too. Wrap duct tape around the exposed wires. Replace the decorative frame table lamp if you removed it. If possible, place the battery inside the drain region table lamp housing.
